I am fed up. Every morning when I listen to the radio, regardless of the station I am tuned into, I hear an advertisement by the Alliance of Australian Retailers talking about how the new law that says that cigarettes should be in plain packaging is stupid.

They say that there is no evidence that it will work, so why bother. (Of course if it won’t work why are they so against it!) They ask you to go to the Alliance of Australian Retailers website, which I did, only to see this…

So this is really a campaign waged by the tobacco companies under the auspices of some retailers association, a group with a vested interest in having people smoke.

Advertisements
